Buddha visiting his relatives

Gautama Buddha visited his relatives in his hometown of Kapilavastu (also known as Kimbulwathpura) seven years after leaving his home, and about one year after his Enlightenment. The visit, often commemorated on the Medin Full Moon Poya day, was initiated by a request from his father, King Suddhodana, who was desperate to see his son after hearing of his attainment of Buddhahood.
